Bottle shared with Mes. Hazy chestnut colour with a fading tan head. Aroma had a generous whiff of fruit and caramel malt. Sweetish, but not overly so. Great balance here thanks to the hoppage. Some booze towards the finish which certainly hung around some. Nicely understated and pretty dang tasty.

25cl. BBF 15-1-2009, sampled 22-4-2009, so about 4 months past best before date. pours a cloudy orange, with a small thick light orange head. aroma of aged beer, aged hops, nuts, sweet malts. flavor is sweet, sawdust, licorice, faint smoked note, alc extremely well hidden, my guess from flavor would be 6 or so, raisins, faint dark fruits. nice flavor actually. kinda swet, but not too much.

Bottled (bryg nr. 15.01.06, BB 01/2009). Murky nut brown color, small off-white head. Plummy and toffeish aroma. Plums, raisins, alcohol and toffee in the flavor with some yeasty notes. Finish is quite hoppy. Some licorice also in the aftertaste. Sweetish, alcoholic and not very malty.

Bottle that I picked up in Denmark Sept 2008, consumed 14-11-08. Pours reddy brown with an off white head. Nice thick confectionary laden aromas fill the air and then the mouth. Sweet toffee and hoppy bite, nicely bitter, really enjoyable but very potent.

250 ml bottle. Dark red body with a moderate beige head. Aroma is sweet malt and pretty hoppy. Flavor is sweet malty, caramel and fruity. Strong, heavy flavor and more in the American style barley wine, e.g. very hoppy and a bit aggressive.
re-rated may16, 2009. Sampled as a well matured bottle at home. This is now becomming a really well ballanced and smooth barley wine, not aggressive as noted earlier. Very nice.

26.5 cL bottle. Pours hazy amber with a lacing head. Sweet grainy nose. Flavour is heavy malty, into a slight grainy note. Before the finish there is quite distinct bitterness. Ends very dry bitter. Not really my style.
