2010-04-21, brewed 2006-01-15, 4 years old, 7-5-7-4-14=37
Dark mahogany color, with amber sparks; small creamy head. Aroma of malt, caramel, light roasted malt. The body is thinning; good caramel and malt flavor, some sweetness, but not too much; the bitterness is decreasing year after year, but still supported by a nutty and roasted malts presence; the alcohol is then also evident. Still drinkable, and not oxidised, but won’t get any better.

2008-10-16, brewed 2006-01-15, 3 years old, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Clean brown color. The aroma is a bit too alcoholic; the flavor is strong dark caramel, with a reasonable bitterness. Good but not impressive.

2007-02-03, 8-4-8-4-16=40
Muddy dark amber color. The aroma has a lot of caramel, malt, very light phenols, nuts, and a Belgian accent. Good body structure, loads of caramel and toffee; the malt leaves clear sugary traces on the lips; warming mouthfeel, powerful bitterness; strong similarities with rubharb candies. Very good.

Dark amber colour. Quite toasty, hot and malty. It’s got a character that could be a dark rye bread (if your glass if half full) or bland toast with astringent hops (if your glass is half empty). No particular complexity. Thud.

250ml bottle (bb.15.01.09) from Barley Wine, Copenhagen. A distinctive Barley Wine that presents itself with a roasted malty smell with anise hints. Slightly hazy dark orange coloured body under a beige head blanketing the glass. Complementing flavours of dark malts, dark fruits and sharp hops. Bitter vinous aftertaste supported by a touch of warming alcohol (03.03.2007).

Unclear dark amber, with a lasting, creamy off-white head. Aromas of dried fruit, tobacco, orange, pine. Sweet, but never too much, balanced by bitter hops and dry dark malts. Some alcohol at the finish. The 25cl bottle has to be the cutest beer bottle in Denmark. You know, for kids!
