An unclear dark red beer with a nice dense beige head. The aroma is quite hoppy with some notes of pine needles, as well as hints of the alcohol. The flavor is powerful with strong malty notes of lots of caramel and toffee, as well as some berry notes in the beginning, but then the alcohol gains in strength to be felt both on the tongue and on the palate with at first a tingling sensation, which in turn becomes a dryness. In the end notes of wood, grass, and hops mixes with a light fruityness to give it a slightly bitter finish.

(Bottle) Slightly hazy orangey brown with a creamy, beige head. Fat aroma of hops and caramel. Very full-bodied with plenty of sweet caramel malt. Bitter finish, a distinct bitter finish. Solid, but perhaps misses the last bit of sophistication to be truly great. 200506

[Bottled at Købehavnske Øldage] Clear pale brown. Aroma of squashed pine needles. Dense and fruity, solidly malty. Very sweet with resiny really bitter finish. Perhaps a bit harsh.
