I was surprised. I hated this beer. I dunno, it might have been skunked, but everything seemed off. Watery, almost rank sour. Some malts and some hops, but overall a very difficult bottle of beer for me to finish.

Bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Best by October 2008. Golden straw colored pour with a medium head. Good retention, average lacing. Very nondescript aroma features subtle earthy hops. Very malty and sweet taste with a slight hop bite. Full bodied. This really tastes odd.

bottle - Pours clear light copper with a two finger white head. It has a light roast malt aroma with a little hops. The flavor is of fairly sweet malt and mild hops. I was expecting the hops to be amped up a bit more for this style. It’s an easy drinking session brew and I’ll always give Sam Adams respect for what they’ve done to popularize craft beer. Yet while this one isn’t bad, they can do better.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a medium frothy white head. The aroma is floral hops and citrus. Good lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet hop and clean finish. Very easy to drink a decent pale ale from Sam Adams.

Bottle. Pours an orange color with a bit of a head that has died down fairly rapidly, leaving a thin film of bubbles on the surface. Aromas are of sweet malts (apple juice and caramel malt) with some floral hops. Flavor is heavy of sweet and grainy malts (see above) and a touch of fruit and floral hops. Not very complex and moderately interesting at best.

Pours crystal clear gold with full head of white foam. The mild aroma emits a mixture of spice and floral hops that seem to border on soapy and even a bit metallic from time to time. A mild sweet maltiness can be noticed underneath the hops. The taste comes across as English with floral hops followed by a spicy hop bitterness. Midway the sweet malts surface for a while until the hop bitterness takes control into the finish. Pale grainy malts make a just noticeable appearance into the after taste.

Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager color. Some piny hop aroma. Taste morphs from a mild initial impact to a gradual medium hop impact. Decent carbonation at the commencement of each sip but it fades rapidly once on the palate. Finish is processed ale with plenty of flavor, for certain.

Clear pale golden body with a small frothy off-white head. Sweet grainy vorn aroma with light caramel and some grassy hops. Grassy caramel flavor with a dry finish.

Bottled(355ml). -So far the worst of three Samuel Adams that I’ve tried. Golden coloured, small but lasting white head. Slight malty and dusty vegetable nose. Also malty and slight hoppy aroma with notes of friut and celery. Very overrated beer.
