Bottle. Nose, is rich licorice, chocolate, boozy almost peppery, hint of coffee and earth. Taste is chocolate, fudge, a boozy whiskey note, more dark chocolate, slightly earthy, a boozy peppery finish with a hint of wood and spice. Drier finish than you would expect.
Good.

Bottle at home, cellared this one for 2 years. Pours black, of course, with a tan head. Nose is lots of molasses, raisins, some oxidization, a touch of bourbon. Taste is chocolate, booze, prunes and dates, molasses. The taste is sweetish, a bit boozy, with a hint if bitterness in the finish. The body is medium to big(ish), although the finish is gone quite quickly. Initially the beer felt quite thin and boozy, but the opened up relatively nicely. Maybe not as unique as it once used to be in today’s market, but still respectable by all means.

Looks attractive and delicious. Massive aroma of dark roasted malt, intense chocolate, caramel, sweet fruit, toffee, bourbon notes, oak, espresso, hint of peat. Flavour is sweet with a long lasting medium bitter finish. Body is very full. A ridiculously tasty masterpiece brew that you wish would last for an eternity.

Sovereign DC, draught: pours black with beige head. Aroma is vanilla, coffee, milk chocolate, some licorice. Taste is a nice sweet blend. Not cloying. Coffee and barrel add nice nuanced touches.
