Draught @ Rogue Public House, San Francisco, CA
Pours reddish orange with a tiny smooth white head. Aroma has a lot of smoke notes, burnt leather, ash and malts. Taste has notes of leather, smoke and hints of ash and fruits. Finish is slightly hoppy with fruity hints. A bit untypical, but quite tasty smoked ale.

Served on draft at Beer Run. Pours a clear amber color with a thin off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of hickory smoke and mild stone fruits. The taste is smoke, caramel and a hoppy finish. Medium bodied.

On tap at flying saucer. Pours a cloudy orange copper with a small frothy off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is a smoke and pepper. Thin mouthfeel with a very dry pepper and smoke finish. A decent Smoked from Rogue.

From cask. Pours cloudy orange with a small tan head. Aroma is smoked, meaty and light caramelish. Sweet malty, meaty, malty and distinct smoked. Bitter, dry and herbal. Smoked and dry malty into the finish. Ends dry and lingering smoked meaty.

Gravity cask at GBBF, Day 4. Pours cloudy amber with a dense, foam head. Big smoke nose, beach wood, not dark and roasty, subtle ham and minerals. Medium sweet flavor, some honey-cured ham, smoked cedar, cheese, light caramel and toast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Great condition. Plenty smokey on the finish but not at all overbearing. The sweetness counters the smoke wonderfully. Bit more honey and caramel, rocks and minerals. Excellent.

Bottle. Pours dark amber. Nose and taste of smoky BBQ, brown sugar, light hops and some roasted caramel malts.

Sweetish amber beer. Trace of caramel. Dominated by a reasonably mellow smoke. Also has a medicinal note. Mellow smoke but too much of it.

(Bottle) Dark amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, smokey nose with notes of beechwood smoke, caramel, dried fruit, raisins, dried apricots, smoked ham and hints of orange peel. Malty, smokey taste with caramel, smoke, dried fruit, orange peel and a decent citrussy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, smooth and rounded mouthfeel. Mainly dry. Excellent balance. Smoke is more prominent in the aroma than in the taste, but there’s some smoked ham there as well. Very nice beer.

Provdatum: 2009-07-04, Flaska 8 grader UTS: Grumligt frukt, istea, härlig skum krona som övergår till fint tapetserade gardiner. D: plommon, rökt fisk S: rök, rök (dessa gossar? kan sin sak) humletoner, ES: fin rök smak som håller i sig länge länge Detta var den bästa rökaren jag smakat! Systembolaget släpp en Rogue i veckan, eller vad sägs om en "Honey Orange Wheat"? Och släpp på alla bolag (Nordstan är inte världens roligaste ställe)!
