Pours a brownish amber with a light head. Dominating smoke aroma, with subtler hints of caramel. Flavour is powerfully smoky, like a barbeque, with faint notes of caramel and vanilla. Interesting beer.

Watery and cloudy brown with rapidly disappearing head. Aroma of frying bacon. Taste is gritty, smoky but a bit thin on body. Brief aftertaste of campfire. Interesting.

Bottle. Cloudy, dark brown color with a medium-sized fluffy foam. Naturally, the beer smelled smoke, especially wood and smoked ham. The flavor was slightly sweet, smoky. The smokiness was fairly mild with hints of smoked ham, bacon and peppers. The feeling of the liquid was quite dry, the body was medium.

Pours hazy dark orange with a small head. Sour smoke and toffee on the nose. Flavour is somewhat sweet and has notes of caramel and smoke.....but where is the "intense hop finish" the label promised??

Draught at McGlaughlin’s in Kyoto. Light amber color. Rich caramel and smoke aroma. Pretty good smoked flavor, with decent caramel and bitterness. Ale fruitiness doesn’t seem to really go with the smoke, though. Slightly spicy, like cinnamon, too. Interesting, different, and nice enough.
