Special treatment of De Cam Kriek Lambik for the Kerstbierfestival of 2007. A kriekenlambic made analogous to glühwein, served at 65° C, spiced with cinnamon, bayleaf and cloves and sweetened with honey. No head, flat, deep red colour, pure lambic and sour cherry taste but strongly softened by the sweet honey and the spices, lending it a bit of cloyingness and a medicinal taste, respectively; oily cherry stone and woody lambic accents still noticeable in the distance. Interesting ’gadget lambic’ and nicely warming in winter, but I prefer the straight, regular kriekenlambic.

Warmkeg@Kerstbierfestival 2007. Deep ruby red colour, with no head. Aroma is a lot of Xmas spices along with cherries and some burnt sugary notes. Flavour is cherries, a bunch of spices as well as some mild nutty notes. Pleasant and very Xmassy.

Kerstbierfestival 2007 Mein 3. Glühkriek. Zimtgeruch. Trockener Abgang. Test vom 21.12.2007, Gebinde: sonstiges Noten: -,9,9,8,-,9 - 8,82

Warm from draft at Kerstbierfestival 2007. A red beer a bit murky with no head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of cherries and cinnamon. The flavor is very sweet with notes of cherries and cinnamon, leading to a dry woody and cherry finish. Underneath is a nice acidity.

RB# 2500: From tap, warm, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours deep red with a little shortlasting pink head. Cinnamon, cardemomme and cloves spices in the aroma, mild cherry note. Flavour is spiced of the same spices as in the aroma, tart cherry flavour, citric to acid which made me shiver. Lingering berry finish with a light acidity. Lovely - most memorable beer from the 2007 Kerstbeerfestival along with the Duvel Tripel Hop.

Bottle served hot @ Kerstbierfestival 2006 in Essen, BE. Dark red color with a smal pink head. Aroma is glögg with cherries with spices like cinnamon, clove. Flavor is heavy bitter, cherry with some lambic notes. Not my favorit warmed kriek !

Dark red-brown beer with a small pink rim. Very spicey nose, like glühwein spices and heated cherries from the glass pot. Once the cherries were out of the pot, there’s the cherry "juice" left. This has been heated with cinnamon and cloves. Thin, with a cherry/spice astringency. Talk about a missed opportunity! Good stuff from the Cam and spices, for such a poor result. Maybe lambic-based fruitbeer is just to thin for this kind of purpose.
