Hagström Rauchweizen is a Bavarian-style wheat beer heavily (32 hours) smoked with black alder and juniper by Takatalo's own smokery in Virolahti, Southeast Finland. Half barley, half wheat, both from Takatalo's own farm. German hops Hallertauer Magnum and Tettnanger were used with White Labs WLP300 Hefeweizen Ale Yeast. The aroma is intensely smoky in a Takatalo's distinctively original style. In the taste smokiness is less dominant and joined with estery and fruity nuances in a harmonic way. The beer was made at Takatalo & Tompuri brewery.

Nice smokey notes in the aroma. Fruity, sweet banana flavors. Medium bodied, very good drinkability. Balanced. Could be smokier even.

Smell of wheat, smoke. Cloudy orange colour, small white head. Aroma of banana, smoke, wheat, some clove and tar in finish. Soft carbon. Light body. Quite typical rauchweizen.

CBH Winter. Hazy orange, small white head. Smokey, muddy aroma. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Nice smokeyness, otherwise a bit flat and watery. Low bitterness. Disappointing one from Takatalo.

Smooth, sweetish and slightly fruity with some smokiness, leathery ham, banana, wheaty yeastiness and hints of earthiness. Surprisingly easy going, but pretty balanced. Expected a bit more intense bitterness and smokiness, but still quite good

(Keg at Pikkulintu Puotila, 20250313) The beer poured reddish amber and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had smoke, clove, earth, banana and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, grass, smoke, banana, clove and bitterness. Aftertaste had smoke, malts and bitterness. Tasty and balanced brew with spicy yeast and not too strong smokiness.
