Tasting at Papsø
Hazy brown color. Dusty caramel aroma, and dusty caramel flavor, with light spicy presence. The final is sweetish, with light liquorice too. Uninteresting.

Bottled. An unclear orange.-brown beer with a huge fluffy off-white head. The aroma has notes of straw and phenol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and phenol, leading to a dry phenolic and spicy finish.
Earlier Rating: 11/11/2005 Total Score: 2.8
A muddy brown beer with an orange head. The aroma is slightly acidic and malty, combined with notes of spices - of which very Christmas like cinnamon stands out. The flavor is malty with notes of spices - all spice being most dominant, but also celery, and with a dry end. Nothing special.

(Bottle 50 cl) Unclear dark brown with a vague orangey glow and a handsome, off-white head. Sweetish, spicy nose. Sweet, malty flavours with marked notes of brown sugar. Also spicy notes with particularly cinnamon shining through. Weak medicinal touches. Pretty much no bitterness. Very christmasy indeed. 120106

Bottled (thanks Papsoe!). Brown colour, big brown head. Very lively, nice fountain. Aroma is caramel malts, fudge, spices, some hops and also some burnt sugar. Flavour is caramel malts, some hops, and quite much spices and herbs. Also some yeasty notes as it warms up. Quite pleasant beer, though I need to wash my rug...
