Bottle at Lauvas Alus, Riga Finally managed to track down a beer from this brewery, and it’s not either of the two already listed on Ratebeer, nor is it as bad as either of those two were reckoned to be. I suspect the brewery only brews one beer but over time has changed the strength and improved the recipe. Anyway, here goes. Just a general yeastiness in the nose. Pours an opaque copper brown with a lasting white head. In the mouth it is malty and grainy, with slight lemon hints, plus grass cuttings. Nicely carbonated. Has diacetyl leanings, but in a good way. Finish is grainy with long lemon notes. Overall not bad.
