400 ml bottle, as Nørrebros Julebryg Økologisk, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. BB date 15.04.2014. ABV is 7.0%. Deep reddish brown colour, moderate beige head. Strong aroma of Christmas spices, also malts, stale cola and caramel. Malty flavour with some sweetness, but not too much. Plenty of Christmas spices, but still fairly well balanced. Very moderate hops. Nice enough to drink.

400ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Near clear amber coloured body. Off-white head reduced to a remaining layer. Not much lace. Mid-sweet aromas of brown malts, nuts, and prunes together with a smooth spicy touch. Comprehensive taste profile of jammy fruits with a touch of ripe banana joined by clove and dark malts. Mild fruity bitterness to the finish keeping some of all the sweetness at bay. Fine bodied. Decent sipper qualities on the night before Christmas (Tromsø 23.12.2014).

Bottle. Pours clear mahogany-brown with a thin beige head that mostly disappears. Little to no lacing. The aroma is warm and spicy with star anise, licorice, caramel, fruity and yeasty. The taste is light sweet, minimal bitterness. The palate is rather watery. Short spicy finish. Warm and pleasant winter ale, although somewhat lacking of complexity.

Tja, litt tørr og spicy, kanskje mer til 'syv slag' enn til julemiddagen? Men grei nok.
