50cl bottle from onkelgobber. Appearance - red/amber in colour with some head. Nose - toffee, some biscuits and probably nutmeg or cinnamon. Taste - toffee and spices. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy/crunchy texture and a dry finish. Overall - a bit thin for the 7% alcohol but an enjoyable beer all the same. I didn’t pick up the Belgian aspect when I was drinking it - thought it was like an imperial amber or something.

Bottle. It’s a clear, amber colored beer topped by a small, beige head. Ginger, cardamom, raisins and a caramel maltyness in the aroma. Pretty similar flavor, sure on the malty side, with some bubblegum hints. Medium to full body, soft on the palate. Spiced, malty finish. It’s sure a decent beer, not way too spiced, but I find it rather boring and uninteresting. 130111

Draught (I recall...)@CPH BF 2013. Ambery brown colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is spices, some sweet malts along with caramel and some mild sugary and a bit perfumed soapy notes. Flavour is sweet malts, caramel, some floral and spicy notes along with mild bananalike sweetness to it as well. Pleasantly balanced and over all a nice Xmas beer, where the spiciness isn’t that dominating.

Bottle - Vintage 2010 - Gingerbread, molasses, spices, booze, raisin, rum, keeps going very complex. Muddy brown thick brown head. Brown sugar, dark fruit, cinnamon, clove, again too much to describe. The perfect christmas beer, a real tread.

500 ml bottle from Nikki’s Liquors, Providence, R.I. Price of $7.99.Tulip glass shows a dirty murky brown with tiny white head. Nose is fruity, malty with a light indescribable spice. Flavor is different. Cinnamon, caramel ,earthy spice and dark fruit I would like to call figs. Nice strong malt backbone. Medium body with soft carbonation. I know this was sitting on the shelf at the store for a while. With that said, it aged ok.

60 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 11.12.2009
Aroma is spicy and malty with raisins and some berries. Flavour has spices, some harsh malt, berries, mulled wine and hints of vegetables. Quite different than I remembered – and worse. A dunkler bock with too much christmas spices added.

Bottle at home. The colour is golden burgundy with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet with Christmas spices such as cardamom and cloves, along with leather and some dried fruit and alcohol. The flavour is following up with more of the same spices, and wood and leather. The mouthfeel is surprisingly light and slick, and has a light bitterness. A nice spiced ale and a real Christmas ale.
