Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a small foamy dark brown head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was woody with whiskey, toasty malts, a hint of nut, coffee and cocoa. The flavor was sourish with red wine, toasty malts, wood, a hint of smoke, coffee and growing bitterness. Long finish. Moderately full bodied.
