Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a large foamy tan head that left good lacing. The aroma was whiskey, toasty malts, wood and more whiskey. The flavor was whiskey, anise, wood and a bit of cleaning solvent. Long whiskey finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth. The whiskey overwhelms the rest of the beer, unfortunately.
