Light Suffolk malts combine with Hereford and Worcester hops to form a quite magnificent ale, strong and rich in flavour yet light in colour, at its best when served cooled.

500ml bottle. Slightly hazy golden body with an off-white head. Aroma is a bit gentle aromatic hoppy. Flavor is light malty, some hops and traces of caramel. Strange choice for a summer ale and not completely in balance.

(Bottle, Jerusalem Tavern, Farringdon, London, 6 Aug 2007) Amber colour with frothy off-white head. Fruity nose with mandarin, orange, honey and sweetish notes of herbal, floral hops. Fruity taste with sweetish notes of honey, citrus (orange) and floral hops in the finish. Rather sweet, medium body with a solid mouthfeel. Surprisingly well balanced considering the fairly high abv and sweetness that donโt completely kill the floral hops. Nice.

500ml bottle from the brewery. Amber, thin beige head. Strong sickly malt aroma, some hop. Not sure I like this. A little smoky, malt is a bit unbalanced. Hop is peppery and earthy, tickly on the end. Just a bit ugly with an odd flavour and overall not good.

Bottle. Clear, pale golden beer with an off-white head. Weak aroma with sweet malt and some hops. Weak flavor as well, with sweetness, malt and some hops. Medium body and a quite hoppy finish. Summer ale maybe, but nothing impressive. I find it a bit unbalanced, witha malty nose and hoppy flavor. On the other hand, how should a summer ale taste and smell? (070427)

Bottle. Golden color with a small white head. Fresh aromatic hops and sweet malt on the nose. Taste is a nice full maltyness with a well balanced hoppy finish. Has some grassy notes on the palate.

[Bottled] Clear reddish amber, rather brief head. Fruity nose with notes of apple and metal. Really salty with solid body. Potent with plenty of bready malt, but unconvincing clean mouthfeel. Tarry finish with lingering bitterness.

500 ml bottle at Haket in Gothenburg, Sweden. Golden color, small white head. Fresh malty scent. Medium bitterness that lingers on the toungue for a while. A bit higher than medium body. Fresh hoppy taste. When the beer warms up more of the alcohol comes out in the flavor, but not in the scent. The bitterness feels enhanced with the warmer beer as well, now well above average.

Hazy dark amber with little head. Very malty aroma with a beginning of contamination. Very smokey malt taste with nutty character and quite hoppy. Just got this puppy before it became bad. Very pleasant!
