Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a large foamy brown head that left decent lacing. The aroma was roasty and dry with a bit of wood and pine. The flavor was roasty and dry, a bit smokey, bitter, a bit woody and had faint floral hops and anise. Long finish. Thin in body for a stout.
