Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark brown color with red highlights and a medium sized red-tan head that left no lacing. The aroma was dry, woody and nutty with a hint of vague spices. The flavor was dry, nutty and earthy with notes of cocoa and ginger. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.
