Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a very dark brown color with orange highlights and a small foamy beige head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was malty and woody with faint dark fruits. The flavor was malty and astringent with cherry, fig, tobacco and medicine. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Sample at the brewpub: Dark reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Minimal lacing. Aroma of sweet malt and caramel. Medium body with a rich malt flavor along with sweet caramel and tropical fruit. Just a bit of hops in there too. Sweet finish is thoroughly malty. All in all a drinkable and tasty brew.
