Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a large fluffy brown head that lingered and left excellent lacing. The aroma was sweet chocolate syrup, toasty malt, a hint of smoke, cherry and coffee. The flavor was bitter with notes of anise, toasty malts, roasty malts, cocoa, whiskey, raisin and a boozy presence. Very long finish. Full body. Excellent.

1/2 growler thanks to Darrel. Pours out pitch black topped with a small tan head. Nose is sweet dark chocolate molasses and nice smoke note. Taste is as the nose with lots of sweetness thick rich molasses. This is really good.
