2013 bottle, 4.5%. Clear pale amber, no head. Metallic aromas, alongside lemon and light caramel. Taste is slightly sweet, more metal tang, some hop bite. Light bodied and thin. Disappointing.

330 ml can from Systembolaget. Clear, amber-golden colour with a thin, dense off-white head. Mild, fruity aroma with caramel malts, light herbal hops and an earthy note. Taste is light sweet. Light to medium body, thinner texture. Finishes fruity with toasted malts, light hints of nuts. Very mellow, nice finish that saves this bitter from being plain.

33cl can from Systembolaget. Pours clear golden with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Sweet caramel flavour with hints of hops. Some bitterness in the finish. Drinkable, but too sweet for me, and quite boring.

Pours a kind of blood-tinged amber with a little head. Soft carbonation, very minimal palate. Tastes like lager with the faintest hint of bitter to it. Not a good beer. Tall can from lcbo.

Originally rated January 2006. A classic ale brewed in oak casks... says the label. Best before date is 30 Jun 06. Pours a clear amber-copper colour with a medium head that dissipates quickly. Some light lace and carbonation, with medium size bubbles. Aroma is malty, with hints of grain like buckwheat, nothing sweet. Watery mouthfeel with a little stick to it. Taste is very, very mild, almost tastes watered down. Some mild roasted malt with not much bitterness. Metallic notes in the aftertaste. Not a very good bitter, too much of a macro... and for the oak cask, you can stop doing that for nothing.
