Blue Mountain Stout has a black coffee color with a creamy dark brown foam. Blue Mountain Stout smells clearly of freshly ground coffee and dark chocolate, which the beer is also added in the form of the world's finest and most expensive coffee, Jamaica Blue Mountain and the Belgian gourmet chocolate, Callebaut, at 70%. Blue Mountain Stout tastes as it smells, namely, roasted coffee with a pleasant bitter dryness which is in fine balance with the rich body.

Bottled. Dark brown, almost black and with a small, tan head. Lovely roasted aroma with coffee and chocolate. The flavor is a bit disappointing, compared to what the aroma suggests, with quite weak flavor of coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. It has a full body and a roasted finish. Rating: 8-4-7-4-14-3.7. Bottle, 66cl. It pours a dark brown body, topped by a creamy beige head. Coffee and chocolate in the aroma, very smooth. Coffeeish, roasted flavor with chocolate and just a faint bitterness. It gets a little boring actually. Smoot, dry mouthfeel, with a roasted finish. A quite nice one, but it might need something to eat to present itselves properly. (090213)

Bottle. Fruity aroma, a bit farty. Black colour, big rocky brown head. The flavour is also fruity, and OK nice. Slight coffee aftertaste and also a little citricity. A bit more watery than expected.

[Bottled at Købehavnske Øldage] Very dark brown, airy head. Cocoa aroma. Really dry with clean mouthfeel. Plenty of smooth coffee and roasty malt. Fairly bitter finish with a touch of ink. A most solid effort.

Deep dark brown with an orange shine; huge, fluffy yellowish head. Dark malts, very perfumey, a bit of soy sauce - Japanese, I’d say - or... nut syrup? Taste is cigarette ash, bit of dry chocolate malts, underbrush flavours. It’s more complex than I can express, because very discreet. Ends sweet, and roasted. Medium to well-bodied. OK stout. Won’t deplace mountains, but deserves its place.

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear and very dark brown with a warm, reddish glow and a creamy, light brown head leaving a neat lacework. Aroma - oddly - mostly of alcohol. Full-bodied with notes of chocolate and burned malt, while the coffee is strangely subdued in this bottle. Distinct ashy edge (like licking an ashtray....) but not really very bitter. 100406
