Imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels with coconut and vanilla

Bite into this bold barrel-aged imperial stout and experience the indulgent aromas of freshly baked coconut macaroons. This stout is full-bodied and decadent, loaded with coconut and vanilla flavor with hints of chocolate.

Can pour into tulip glass from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Appearance is opaque, inky black with no sparkle, finger-width light brown head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, cookie, bourbon (mild alcohol burn), coconut and vanilla. Taste is cream, bourbon, dark fruit, late vanilla and coconut. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with silky smooth, thick texture, soft carbonation with late lively kick, light alcohol burn and finish as taste. Overall, packaged 6 months ago (5/29/19) and should have sat a little longer for the bourbon/alcohol to mellow out a little bit. Quite good but aged a little longer I think it might have been amazing.

473ml can. Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, long lasting, brown head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, bourbon, molasses, vanilla, ash, coconut and oak. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel, molasses, licorice, brown sugar, vanilla, espresso, coconut and oak in a dry, bourbon warming finish. Full body with a sticky, creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. The guest ingredients seem to be M.I.A. Having said that, this is a delicious, complex, well made Impy that was fun to drink.

Tap @ Panema Helsinki. Poured pitch black in color. Tan head. Really heavy on the coconut here. Light bourbon notes along with sweetness, some toast and cocoa. Chocolate candy bars. Sweet finish.

W aromacie wygrywa kokos. Potem beczka, wanilia, praliny. Srednionciala a bardzo slodkie. Troszke alko posmak. Ale generalnie robi wrazenie, tylko ze prawie pol litra to duuuzo jak na to piwo.

From can to glass. Restrained chocolate and coconut. Dark brown with minimal tan head that collars. Taste is baker’s chocolate and slight sweetness from the coconut and vanilla.

Can shared at Kim Buurthuis thingy. Almost black with small beige head. Sweet coconut licorice notes, alcohol, bourbon, vanilla, light spicy, drop, caramel, toast. Quite sweet, medium bitter. Thick full bodied with oily feel. Tastes like “Engelse Drop”.
