Burk efter en Dipa provning hos PQ. Färg ja ? Meningslöst är ju en imp Stout KOLSVART. Doftar då? Lite portvin , Kola, bourbon och vanilj. I munnen då? Oh herräjävlar vad komplex och god. Smakar bourbon , bränt socker och vanilj. Finns svag ton av kokos också. Jättegod efterrätts imp Stout. Oj oj kolsyran då? Jo små mousserande jävla bubblor👍👍👍. Varför lyckas så få med kolsyran? Mousserande som framhäver smakerna lyckas bara fååå kvalitets bryggerier få tills

From a 473ml can on 14/7/2019. Pours not far off black with a medium light tan head. The nose has a heavy bourbon accent with some light chocolate and vanilla. Very intense flavour wise - chocolate, caramel, vanilla, coconut, oak and a bit of toffee. The bourbon is again prominent and it's reasonably boozy, with the 13 cent no surprise. The texture is syrupy, the carbonation moderate. An enjoyable super sweet sipper, but doesn't quite blow my hair back. But I guess I've never really been a barrel aged guy.

Pastry stout by The Bruery – the reference “bakery” says enough – tasted from tap at BeerTemple in Amsterdam during Carnivale Brettanomyces. Thick and creamy, pale yellowish beige, stable head, jet black robe. Aroma of (strong) coconut flesh, milk chocolate, strong sweet bourbon, kahlua, latte macchiato, hazelnut paste, caramel sauce, toffee, touch of liquorish, brown rum. Sweet candied dates and figs in the onset, medium carbonated, full oily body; lots of sugary sweetness on top of a toffeeish and hazelnutty malt body providing enough backbone against the sweetness but also having lightly metallic edges here and there. Sticky sweet finish with a lot of retronasal coconut – quite lovely actually, because it melts with the milk chocolatey effect to an almost Bounty candy-like impression, in an adult version at least because it gets heated by a whole lot of evidently very bourbon-like alcohol. The sweetness lingers well beyond that, but somehow never becomes too much. State of the art pastry stout, too bad for that light metallic thing but I highly suspect this comes from the tap treatment and I would therefore love to revisit this one from a 75 cl bottle.
