Poured from a 16 oz can. Aroma is chocolate forward with lighter roast notes and fairly strong coconut notes. Light vanilla and bourbon notes with faint oak. Some light alcohol spice. Pours black with a medium sized, thick, mocha head that recedes slowly but steadily leaving a small, creamy film on the edges. No lacing and long legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with quite a bit of chocolate notes and light roast, caramel and toast notes. Moderate coconut and light vanilla. Light bourbon and alcohol spice with a faint oak notes. Mouthfeel is medium full to full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer but the aroma is better than the flavor. It could use a bit more sweetness and adjuncts in the flavor.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a large foamy brown head that lingered and left very good lacing. The aroma was coconut, harsh whiskey, chocolate, and a strong boozy presence. The flavor was whiskey, coconut, chocolate, and sugar cookie. Long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Tall can from Irvine Whole Foods drank in HK. Thick black pour with creamy fine tan head. Aroma is rich and dark, fruity dark chocolate, leather, vanilla, light toasted coconut, burnt sugar, alcohol. Taste is huge oaky, boozy, coconut sugar-y, with some dark fruit, dark chocolate, lots of alcohol, a bit too harsh as it warms. Very strong. Rich creamy palate, kind of sticky. Sharp bitter finish. Long lasting warmth and residual sweetness. Very good dessert-type beer, alcohol a bit too intense so best to share.

473ml can. Pours black with a big tan head. Aroma of coconut, chocolate, boozy bourbon, vanilla. Taste is sweet, very boozy, coconut, chocolate, bourbon, roast malts, vanilla. Full bodied, extremely thick and creamy, soft carbonation. Lovely beer, I do wish it was a little less boozy though as it got more intense as it warmed, too.

On tap at Rogue & Vagabond. Pours pitch black. Coconut, chocolate, vanilla, deep dark chocolate, bourbon, toasty oak stuff, bit of booze, some dark demerara sugar type sweetness. Huge thick body. Exactly my kind of pastry stout.
