Can, 10C. Black with a brown head that's soon a coat. Aroma is very roasty at first, then vanilla, whisky, coconut and oak come through. Straightforward verging on blunt - no air of mystery about it, although it doesn't smell anything like a macaroon. Nice though. Immensely sweet with mocha, whisky and coconut. The palate is very closed; none of the flavours have room to move, they just jostle. The sweetness is dealt with effectively at the end with a fair whack of bitterness. There is surprisingly little overt alcohol. Flavours open up a little as it warms but it's still mostly Bourbon and the sweetness is no longer under any semblance of control. Not for me.

Can shared at CB. Pours a deep brown with a small beige head that dissipates. Very big chocolate milk aromas with toasted coconut, vanilla and fudge notes on the nose. Thick and decadent on the palate. Tons of milk chocolate backed up by cacao nib, coconut and vanilla. Sweet, but not overly so. Alcohol hidden fairly well. Very enjoyable.

Can at Bob's Bar. Brown-black pour with a medium thick beige head that diminishes steadily to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, coconut and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, coconut, chocolate malt and vanilla. The finish is sweet with a vanilla and coconut cookie aftertaste. Good beer all around.

16 oz. can. Pours black, with a big, fizzy, brown head. Tons of coconut on the nose, with cocoa, vanilla, bourbon, and cinnamon. Very sweet and boozy. Medium body, with a syrupy, lively mouthfeel. This is a fun and decadent stout, but a little thin.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight tan head. Aroma of bourbon and coconut. Full bodied. Flavor of very dark treacle, bourbon/whiskey, coconut and hints of wood. Not at all dry. The whiskey is strong enough to stand in for hop. The taste is very unusual, but IMHO it is exquisite. Very tasty and good whateveritis.
