Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford (not listed in RateBeer) Pours a honey amber colour with a small white head and good lacing. Nose is a good combination of honey, caramel and malt. In the mouth the texture is bready with malts and hops with just a little spicyness. Rounded of with a bitter finish. This is what a classic bitter should be like – very quaffable as well.

Cask at Cherry Reds, Birmingham City Centre. Poured a hazy golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, yeasty, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a light, watery, bready dough, light watery hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.
