Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark brown color with orange-highlights and a large foamy tan head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was woody with notes of bread crust and cardboard. The flavor was dry, woody, nutty and was somewhat bitter and astringent. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium light beige head that diminishes quickly to an outer rings. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Light to medium body with flavors of bready malt, mild coffee and toffee. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.
