Brewed for Walrus Alley in collaboration with Nod Hill Brewery, Fritz Walrus Edel Weisse is in the style of a classic Bavarian hefeweizen with a unique twist. It pours a deep gold in color with a fluffy white head. Classical notes of banana & clove are balanced by a refreshing citrusy character from the American hops. A creamy soft texture from the wheat makes this beer a delight to drink.

Can to weizen glass.
Appearance: semi-cloudy copper color with an ever so slight transparency about it and a finger's worth of white foamy head which took it's time to dissipate then leave some light sliding lace.
Aroma: the normal banana, clove, bubblegum and sweet wheaty tones of a hefeweizen; however, light grassy & citrusy to floral hops slide in for an odd yet fairly good sort of way
Flavor: seems to mesh the previously noted aromas fairly nice in a sweet to spicy to earthy and wheaty sort of manner; finishes citrusy hoppy and wheaty with the bubblegum, clove as the banana seems a lot fainter here
Texture: medium to full bodied, sessionable; smooth along the tongue and the kick of wheat tangy-ness (maybe not as sharp as a true Hefeweizen but it's there)
Overall: I just wonder out loud - is this supposed to be that "Hopfenweisse" style? I'm not exactly sure but to me, this one seems to lean that way and yes, I would return to this beer.
