Cask at Five Lamps, Derby. Pours a rich ruby with a small off-white head.. There’s a pleasant earthy aroma with malts and crusty bread. In the mouth it is sweet but with a little underlying bitterness. Flavour of dark fruits, malts and dye. Later on some raisins come through plus hints of honey and cloves leading to a rather fruity finish. This is entirely reasonable – but lacks a little something to make it special.
