Cask at Babington Arms, Derby. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. The aroma is generally smoky with tar and roast malts also. Smokiness to the fore again in the mouth, together wit liquorice at the start. Bitterness and roasted malts come soon after, and later still tar and spice plus hints of dark fruits. Finish is really dry and somewhat sticky. This is a decent porter, but somewhat overdoses on the smokiness.
