A small taste @ Remedy, cellar's treasures tasting. Pours clear golden with a medium head. Aroma is light malts with solvent. Flavor is light malts, solvent, alcohol. Not great, to put it mildly.

Somewhat accidental choice in the 7-11 around the corner. Clear golden pur with a decent white head which does not last that long. Aromas are malts, grains and bread. Tastes of malt, grains, a hint of milk/cream and a slightly peppery finish. Not bad and can definitely keep up with standard lager.

16/12/2022. Can courtesy of Richard P, cheers for this my first happoshu style, shared with Travlr. Pours clear golden with a large frothy white head. Aroma is sweet, grainy, fruity, light malts, bready notes. Medium sweetness, light metallic bitterness. Moderate body, oily and slightly creamy, soft carbonation. A little peppery bitterness to finish. Started to quite enjoy it.

So this is the 3rd category beer that's supposed to be so good, eh? Let's give it a shot. Usually don't bother with this cheapo style. CAn is ¥135. Ok hop nose, with lemon and orange and some grass. Slightly sugary maltish character. Clear, deep gold with a nice head. Sweet and sugary, grainy, citrus and herbs. Ok finish is snappy and crisp and a bit peppery but just a bit too sweet and a bit syrupy. The cheap grains and candy-like fruit come through too. Not bad for the style, I admit, but not worth any special praise.

15.08.2019, 0,35l can @ hotel room in Tokyo:
Big fizzy-creamy longlasting head, clear straw colored. Aroma is slightly dry grainy, weeds, hay, dried grain, minerals, sour grass, paper, alcohol, bark. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish grainy, weeds, hay, dried grain, minerals, paper, grass, bark, booze. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh boozy mouthfeel. Meh!

330ml can from a Kyoto Family Mart. Poured a crystal clear golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, cardboard, some light citrus fruits, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, malt, light gluey, light floral hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. A little less light and with a little more flavour than your average macro produced pale lager.
