Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe (@ 3.7%). Pours bitter brown with minimal scummy off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just vague hints of malts and hops. In the mouth it is quite bitter but with some underlying sweetness. Flavour has traditional hops, nuts, autumn fruits and grains. Bitterness lasts into the finish. It’s OK – but quite forgettable.
