Brewed for the 50th anniversary of the all time classic album by Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon. This rich fruity stout is a slightly more sessionable take on the style. Plenty of crystal malts and melonoidin added to the mash for richness and a generous hop bill of Ekuanot, Motueka and Sabro give this beer its complex tropical character. Expect notes of chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, mango, with a hint of coconut and vanilla.

Cask at Furnace, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. There’s coconut in the aroma, and this is there again in the mouth to start off with, alongside coffee and raisins. After a whilte vanilla and dates comes to the fore, and later this liquorice is the dominant feature. It’s nice enough, but a bit of a gimmick – not really much stout characteristic at all.
