On tap at Pub Edo. Dark chocolate, malt, molasses and coffee aromas present. Fairly well-balanced between bitter and sweet. Medium bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Once it comes to room temperature fig and prune flavors are also present while the chocolate and coffee tastes are still present. Nice smooth finish with some espresso bitterness. --- Beer merged from original tick of Swan Lake Porter on 16 Feb 2016 at 14:43

Draft to a plastic cup @ Nippon Craft Beer Festival 2014. Pours dark brown with a small layer of foam. There is definitely some roasted malts and coffee in the aroma. Taste is also multi-layered - at first there is more sweet malts and fruits, following by drier and more roasted aftertaste. Feels quite light for a porter but is quite enjoyable nonetheless. Dark fruits and coffee. Good beer in winter, would go well with pork dishes.

On tap at Ant n Bee, August 2013. Black with a small tan head. Both the aroma and taste were dominated by coffee. Also roasted malt and some dark chocolate. Descent.

Part of their 3900 yen Rakuten Thank You Set. 6% A nice robust Porter. It poured with a brown head and a dark black color. It’s fairly light and easy to drink for a dark beer and goes really well with a brownie. Good stuff.

Draught @ Bakushu Club Popeye, Tokyo. Rated on 05.09.2011
Aroma is light and slightly roasted with coffee. Flavour has lots of coffee and roastiness with some sugar. Dry palate, hoppy aftertaste. Good stout with lots of coffee, but the sugar and leathery palate do disturb a bit.

Draught at Popeye, Tokyo. Very black, creamy head. Roasty coffee and chocolate up front. Soft and seemless with concentrated moutfilling coffee flavour. Lightly salty finish with a touch of bitterness. Wonderfully balanced!

On tap at Popeye’s. Pitch black with a tan head, just a sliver of lace. Rich, chocolate and caramel flavor, no sour tastes. Nothing at all strange or out of balance: sweetness well balanced by burnt malt flavor. A very very good traditional Porter.
