It's a beer to lift your spirits and inspire awe. Trail Magik is chocolatey and roasty with huge malt flavor in the beginning and a subtle vanilla finish.

5 oz. pour as part of a flight at the brewery. Opaque black w/ring of head, light lacing. Aroma is sweet roasted malt, lactose, toffee. Taste is strong sweet roasted malt, vanilla, milk chocolate. Smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste.

Sample at the brewpub. Brown-black pour with a thin tan head that recedes steadily to a dense film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and coffee. Light-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, mild chocolate and a hint of vanilla. The finish is roasty and thin with a short vanilla and malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.
