Matte brown on black, tacked cocoa head.
Nose is all cocoa, carbo & ash.
Bittersweet leaning sweet & sharp. Lovely dense roast, a touch smokey, a quick wave of dark chocolate, lightly nutty, lingering ash & calcium.
Fizzy, medium astringency, easy abv for 7.

Good, classic stuff.

Can from Beer Republic. Aroma is roasted malt with coffee, some vanilla, chocolate, burnt malt, caramel, and a hint of liquorice. Flavour is medium sweet with a moderate roasty bitterness. Body is medium. Roasty and a bit burnt with coffee, cocoa, the vanilla gives it a slight dessert-like twist.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark brown with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of chocolate and dark grains with a bit of roast coming through. Flavor has dark grains and roasted malts throughout with chocolate growing through the finish.
