Sample at the tap room during the "Barrel-aged Bottle Release Party" on 01/28/2017. Black pour with some brown around the edges, and a thin tan head that recedes quickly to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of roast malt, port wine and chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, dark fruit, oak and chocolate. The finish is slightly syrupy with a port wine and malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.
