Dobre i intensywnie pachnace piwo czekolada. Ciemne, geste i o ladnej brazowawej piance. W sam raz do puddingu lub innego czekoladowego deseru. Tresciwosc slodow czekoladowych oraz marris oter wspaniale wspolgraja i tworza jedna wielka czekoladowa calosc.

500 ml bottle, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.8%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Strong aroma of cocoa / chocolate. The flavour has also loads of chocolate and cocoa, but is not very sweet. Some coffee and noticeable hops in the background. Despite the dominant chocolate: This is actually a well balanced beer, pleasant to drink, and does not become cloying.

Big coarseish brown head. Clear deep dark brown body with fast carbonation. Nutty milk chocolate aroma with fruity notes. Sweetish milk chocolate taste with earthy resiny mealy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish resiny milk chocolate aftertaste with mealy earthy notes. It’s not very complex, but on the other hand the chocolate flavour is really vivid, and very harmonically integrated. I liked this beer a lot more than I expected to. (0.5l bottle, from not sure where.)

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a thin, tan head. The aroma is pure chocolate, leading to a medium bitter liqourice flavour with lots of smooth chocolate on the super smooth palate. Rather different, tasty and one i’d order again, but not the best chocolate stout. I prefer a richer, more chewy, malty palate that you get with the Youngs Chocolate Stout.

50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 12/2013
Aroma is rather nice with lots of semi‐dark chocolate, cocoa, some coffee, cereal, hints of hay and vanilla. Flavour has dark chocolate, some ash and coffee notes. Very nice stuff for this ABV. The finish is too strong on hops though.

Cask at The Stanhope on Gloucester Road/London. Pours very dark brown with a tan head and orange? glints. Strong chocolate aroma. Med body. It’s really, really smooth and the flavor is not very bitter chocolate. Delicious. Dessert ale!

50 cl. Bottle split @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Pours blackish – bit hard to see with the lighting here – with a creamy big bubbly mocha head. Nose reminds me of Rogue Double Chocolate, lots of sweet chocolate syrup, cheaper but yummy chocolates, creamy coffee,… Smell beets taste which is a bit more tuned down / mellower less thick chocolate syrup still dominates, lighter grass bitter flourishes in the back, UK hops, cheaper sweet chocolate, light malts, touch fudge and saccharine,… Lighter body but still quite syrupy for the ABV. Not much surprise that they used chocolate syrup in here which for me in this case feels a bit like a shortcut but I do like the taste so…

500ml bottle @ Drink Bar, Tallinn

Pours pitch black with a small bubbly head. Aroma of spices, chocolate, slight roastiness and malty notes. Taste is smooth and slightly roasty with a lot of chocolate notes and lots of vanilla. Finish is sweetish smooth and malty with hints of vanilla and chocolate. Okay chocolate stout, a bit too heavy on the vanilla notes though

Instinct tells you this one will be good and it is. A very black stout with a full aroma of chocolate malts. Plenty of taste somewhere between chocolate and coffee.
