Sample at the brewpub. Dark brownish-amber color with a thin light beige head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Sparse patches of lacing. Aroma of oak, dark fruit, malt and yeast. Medium body with flavors of oaky vanilla, fruit, caramel malt and slight earthy hops. The finish is oaky with a fruit and malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
