Black with little brown head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, maple syrup, some amarena, wood, some dandelion. Taste is sweet dark chocolate, some syrup and molasses, a bitter counterpoint which I cannot specify further. Velvety.

Bottle. Black color with beige head. Aroma is maple, bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, but also a touch booze. Taste is thick maple syrup, caramel, chocolate. Thick viscous mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Great stuff.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours jet black with a thin tan head. Aromas of rich coffee, vanilla, chocolate. Taste is more chocolate, boozy vanilla, coffee, faint maple syrup. Rich, sweet finish.

Aroma is sweet with bourbon and licorice. Also alcohol. Flavour has vanilla, licorice, some coffee and alcohol in the finish. I like the vanilla here. A slow sipper in the edge of becoming too sticky, stuffy and sweet for even that purpose.

330ml bottle from Beergium. Pours pitch black with a tiny sticky brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, hints of maple syrup, toffee, caramel, licorice, dark chocolate. bourbon, wood and oak. Taste is sweet, sticky and syrupy with some roastiness, bourbon, maple syrup, wood and oak. Finish is sweet, sticky and syrupy with some bourbon, maple syrup, toffee, oak and vanilla. Heavy and sweet.
