Sample at the brewery taproom during the "Skeleton Red Rye IPA Taproom Release" on 07/28/2017. Dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes quickly to a dense film. Small patches of lace. Roast malt, raspberry and mint in the nose. Medium body with flavors of chocolate malt, vanilla, mild raspberry and subtle mint. The finish is roasty with a malt, vanilla and berry aftertaste. Interesting treatment, above average overall.
