Sample at the brewpub. Brownish-black color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and hops. Medium body with flavors of roast malt, coffee, earthy hops and a bit of coffee. The finish is roasty with a malty aftertaste. Above average overall.
