Sample from cask at the 12th annual Smokehouse Mini Real Ale Fest on 05/16/15: Pours a dark reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to a wispy film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruit, yeast and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of cherries and other dark fruits, earthy yeast and caramel malt. The finish is fruity with a cherry and plum aftertaste. Pretty good all around.
