On draught at the brewpub, this is the September selection in Elevator’s "PHD" program. Pours a very dark brown color with a medium thick beige head that dissipates slowly. Small sticky patches of lacing. Subtle smoke, wood and burnt malt aroma. Medium body with a smoky character and flavors of roasted malt coffee. The finish is smoky with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.
