Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a small foamy dark brown head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was bitter floral hops and roasty malts. The flavor was dry, smoky, roasty and had light notes of coffee and vanilla. The finish was quite long. There was a medium body but was also fairly creamy. Decent.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is nearly black with a medium beige head that recedes steadily. Sticky patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Medium, smooth body with flavors of roasted coffee, sweet malt, mild hops and chocolate. The finish is roasty with a mild coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.
