Sample at the brewpub. Not sure if this beer is the same as Square One Amber on the Rye as that is Augusta’s sister brewpub. Also not sure if this is a nonsensical Catcher In The Rye pun for that matter. Either way, the beer pours dark amber with a medium thin and foamy beige head that recedes slowly. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Toasted malt and rye in the nose, along with a bit of hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of rye and bready malt, along with some citrusy hops. The finish is malty with a lingering rye aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
