Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Well I get thyme in the nose – but maybe that is just auto-suggestion ? Anyway, pours a murky dark reddish brown with a small cream head and good lacing. In the mouth hops and pepper are dsominant, along with hints of thyme and ginger. Alcoholic strength can be tasted too – and that is what features in the finish. Not unpleasant, but rather strange.
