Mashed warm and thick with plenty of oats and wheat, brewed for low bitterness but with oodles of late and dry hopping with juicy US varieties and fermented with a special yeast strain to produce fruity esters, this is a textbook New England IPA. It's also black due to a late addition of dehusked dark malt, bringing colour and a hint of chocolate and liqourice but not the astringency of roasted malts

Cask at Floodgate Ale House, Stafford Described as a Black NEIPA – which is basically nonsense. It was pretty much a Black IPA. Poured almost black with a strong beige head. Dark fruits in the aroma, and more fruit such as grapes and blackberries, with a creamy texture. Finish is very bitter, like charcoal. A nice beer but somewhat bland.
