Though its true origins lie in England--where brewers made their ales stronger and hoppier to withstand the long journey to thirsty troops in India--the bitterness and intense hop flavors of the IPA have made it the perfect foil for mass-produced lagers. Our Las Islas Pilipinas Ale - LIPA - is brewed in homage to and in continuation of this proud tradition of standing opposed to commercialized, mass-marketed, adjunct-laden cheap beer. It showcases only boasting a boatload of piney and herbal, earthy and citrusy, dank and tropical flavors afloat on a sea of pale, biscuity barley malt... because don't you deserve the finest?
Best enjoyed with salmon with mango salsa, curry, Pepper Jack cheese, lemon tart.

12/4/2018. Bottle from BEEReaucracy Bar, Davao City, Philippines. Gusher! Pours murky dull orange amber with a huge frothy head. Aroma of tropical fruit, hop, citrus and herbs. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Enjoyable aside from the gushing!

Bottle at The Bottle Shop by Global Beer Exchange. Poured a hazy golden colour with a big frothy white head. The aroma is malt, fake sugar, lemon, lime citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a malt, light fruit, herbal, dry lavendar floral hop bitter palate and long bitter finish with a bubby mouthfeel. Medium bodied with lively carbonation.
